Jaystepher here today with a review on the Lego Designer Set 4886, the Lego Designer Set 4886, also known as the Building Bonanza. This is a classic set that I purchased on eBay about a year or two ago for about 25 bucks. And the set originally came out in 2004. And this is before they started calling these Creator sets. So they called it a designer set. And this is before they started calling these Creator sets. So they called it a designer set. You get the three-in-one. You get the three-in-one. Here’s the back of the box. I was surprised I still have the box, but I’m probably getting rid of the box because it’s starting to come apart. You know, throw out the box, but you get to build other models in here too like skyscrapers, rockets, all kinds of stuff. I was lucky enough to have all the instruction booklets. It was a brand new set in the box. It’s rated for ages six and up. You get the full colored book. Let’s see here, I can’t show you too much of the book, but you get to build other things too. I build the house. There’s three-in-one but I build the one I liked the most. There’s three-in-one but I build the one I liked the most. But I can’t show you anymore of that. But here is the Lego Builder Bonanza house 4886. But here is the Lego Builder Bonanza house 4886. You get a lot of pieces for this. Now let me … it doesn’t tell you…. I’m actually on the website. Oh, it has 667 pieces. It would have been nice if they made it all sixes, but they probably did that for a reason. But you do also get to make some trees. So we’ll do a little review on this set even though if it’s not sold anymore, you might be able to pick this up. Start off with the trees here. Just your standard block, brick type trees and plates. Start off with the trees here. Just your standard block, brick type trees and plates. Basic but it serves a purpose. You also get to build bushes. Here’s one here on the house, and just like with the Creator sets, the roofs on these come off, but I’m going to show you the front of the house. You have the white picket fence which I’m really surprised that I even have those. I mean, the other kind of fences I use to have before were always these, but this is one of the few sets that actually have the the white picket fences. You see you got another one of those block type style trees with the flower beds. You got this nice walkway that’s tiled, and it turned out really good the way the designers did this. And there’s the porch light with a door. You guys were asking me about that security door, this is what came with it. Here’s some real … you know … plastic pane windows but this set actually has the shutters on it. That’s rare. These are kind of like the old-style shutters. We also got the … a fully … sloped roof with sloped tiles. All of this is capped off with ridge pieces, it looks really good. And all these windows open up by the way. They are just these standard flap-style windows. Here’s the side. Oh the shutters are closed but that’s what it looks like on the side. I like this porch. I don’t know why they didn’t put this down here. That’s the way the set told me how to build it. I don’t know why they didn’t put this down here. That’s the way the set told me how to build it. There’s the back of the house. Let’s take a look. Just like with all Creator sets, the roof just comes off. Although this one here is not as easy as mine. Start with the roof. It’s just your standard roof construction. A little excessive on bricks but it’s really strong and durable. And here’s the inside of the house. Not really finished off, Not really finished off, and I don’t now why that’s sticking out there. That’s what the instructions told me, That’s what the instructions told me, and I don’t know what the point of that was. But there’s really not much room in this house, but it is playable. It is mini-fig friendly. All-in-all though, if you were actually lucky enough to get this set in 2004, of you actually have it for your …. if you were actually lucky enough to get this set in 2004, of you actually have it for your …. I mean if you find it like on eBay or some of these other places, you’re lucky. This is a good little set. And this is when they started doing all the Creator stuff. The main problem I have with these Creator sets is that the roof snaps on. They don’t … it doesn’t sit inside the walls like mine do. But all-in-all, and this kit was originally retailed for 45 dollars I believe. 40 or 45 dollars. But for 667 pieces for that, you can’t go wrong. I got a steal on it on eBay with free shipping for 25 bucks. I was really happy. Really great find. Nice vintage set for my collection. Nice vintage set for my collection. You get these extra trees which I don’t really care much for block trees. Just to share with you guys and to show you this vintage Lego set. It’s about the oldest set that I actually have at this time. But a great little set. So this is the Lego Building Bonanza set which is a Designer Set or known now as the Creator sets. Set number 4886, ages 6 and up, 667 pieces. Thank you for watching!
