Donating toys or other items to patients at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin

Hi, I’m Kendra. Hi, I’m Mary. Hi, I’m Annabelle. Hi, I’m Montgomery. With the holidays around the corner, we have started to experience the generosity of such an amazing community through the many gift donations being received. No one wants to be in a hospital during the holidays, but we work really hard to create a fun and familiar environment for the patients and families while they are here. At Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, we
want kids like me to be healthy and safe. Not to be a Grinch, but sometimes there are rules. Here are the rules to keep us safe. All donations must be brand new and unwrapped. Kids are always looking for new things to
do to stay busy while they are here. We like coloring books small Lego kits board games playing cards puzzles art supplies We especially need gifts for infants and teens. We cannot accept used or gently used toys or food, handmade items and personal notes. The only accepted hand made items are pillow cases, blankets and some prequalified small sewn bears. We appreciate your generosity, but for the
safety and privacy of our patients, we want to let you to know that you cannot personally handout presents to patients. All donations can be dropped off at the welcome desk in the hospital’s main lobby. While most gifts are given out during the holidays, toy donations go beyond the gift giving season. They can be used throughout the year for therapeutic play with a child life specialist, as a birthday present, as a reward for completing a test
or procedure, or simply as entertainment and distraction. Instead of donating gifts, consider donating a financial gift through our foundation. Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin created these guidelines to recognize and appreciate a generous community and to ensure all donations are used in the way they are intended during the season of giving. The last day to donate is December 16th! Any donations that do not meet our guidelines or that are delivered past the deadline will be shared with our partner agencies and local communities. If you have any questions about your donation or the donation process, please call 414-266-2787. Thank you so much for thinking of the children and families at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Have a nice holiday. Bye!
